Lisa Schmid - Actress. Cabaret Artist. Vienna
I got to know Lisa some time ago during a performance of her cabaret program Ehrengrab and was enthusiastic about her from the start. Because the program is very special, as it combines two things that are very contradictory to our culture: laughter and death. If you then add the Viennese unfriendliness, then something very special and profoundly Viennese results out of this.
I am a cabaret artist and actress. My solo program "Ehrengrab" has been running in Vienna since October 2019.

What is special about your job?
The special thing about my job as a cabaret artist is that you can always get involved in new situations. The audience is never the same. It’s always different. And that is so nice. You get to know a lot of people and gain experience. I am very happy that people come to listen to me. Death is still a taboo subject and the mother of all fears. It's nice when people go out after my program and I was able to give them a humorous approach to the subject.
Is there a typical day?
Is there such a thing? I don't think life serves you typical days. Anyway, I don't know what that is. I think getting up and going to bed might be typical of a day.
Something that you particularly remember
In my whole life? There was quite a lot and I am very grateful for all the wonderful moments.
3 words that describe me
Well, shouldn’t that actually fill in other people. I'm very bad at that. Maybe a bit morbid. But who is not in Vienna?

Lisas insights to Vienna
Why do you like to live in Vienna?
Vienna is the most beautiful city in the world for me. I also wrote a song for my program. It's called "Vienna against the world" - it's about my path to the grave of honor, but also about Vienna and the unfriendliness that I love so much.
What makes this city so special for you?
You have to live here to understand it. It is this "old". This old city, these old stories.
My personal Vienna tip ...
I love walking in the night. I think Vienna is the most beautiful. When everything is so quiet and the air smells so clean.
My favorite place in Vienna ...
The central cemetery. It is beautiful in every season. I also wrote my program there. That mood there. Very peculiar. Very Vienna.
My favorite restaurant in Vienna ...
The Cafe Ritter. I like this very much.
Lisa's next show will take place on January 31st, 2020 in the Arena Bar in the 5th district Tickets are available at www.lisaschmid.at. I can highly recommend it. You dive deep into the Viennese souls and simply get a new perspective on some things.
