My city. My festival. – Danube Island Festival 2017

What are you doing at the beginning of the summer? I know it still takes some time until the summer comes and thus also summer mood.

But there is a very good reason that you are already thinking about it, because from June 23rd to June 25th, Vienna is again dominated by Europe's largest open-air festival with free admission, the Danube Island Festival. For 3 days Vienna's popular leisure paradise turns into a festival zone.

And you also have to be quick to book your perfect holiday apartment in Vienna, because the most popular ones are fast sold-out as visitors come from all over the world.

Three days with around 600 hours of concerts, cabaret, sporting attractions and an extra program for children, more than 200 live acts on the eleven stages and 16 themed islands are waiting for you at the festival, this year with its special focus on Austrian music culture.

With its extensive and colorful program, the Danube Island Festival also reflects the diversity that makes Vienna so charming. For you as a visitor, it is a unique and connecting experience with which the summer begins. Young people, families, seniors and international guests, there is something for everyone. All day long.

Not only well-established partners will be actively involved again and make the festival to what it is, but also some new ones could be won. For example, the TV channel DMAX Austria with "The Beast" or Nestlé with the "Schöller Waterslide. Or Eurowings with the "Eurowings Stage Flying" an oversized flying fox where you fly 160 meters along the rope over the party crowd. Even at night, when the impressive lighting promises you a very special experience.

My stars. My festival.

The heart of the festival is the musical offer that awaits you.

No matter what genre is yours rock, pop, alternative, indie, punk, hip hop, oldies, electro, pop, folk music, cabaret or readings, international and national stars await you. The program is so diverse, just look at the website, what is offered.

One highlight is the legendary Falco- Danube Island Festival concert of 1993 that returns. National and international artists, in collaboration with the original Falco band, are designing a tribute to the cult star.
