Today we start with cinemas, film, music and culture.

Cinema & Movies

One of the most famous and largest open air cinemas is the Kino unter Sternen (cinema under stars) on Karlsplatz. From 29th June to the 21st July 2018, in front of the breathtaking scenery of the Karlskirche, the presentations take place, daily in all weather conditions and free of charge. The focus is on Austrian films. The program and all information are available at www.kinountersternen.at

Kino am Dach (cinema on the roof) means summer open-air cinema on the roof of Vienna's main library. Under the open sky, above the rooftops of Vienna you can see current films and classics, the best and most popular films of the last 15 years. From June 28th to August 26th 2018, Kino wie noch nie (cinema like never before) will take place. Also this year the Filmarchiv Austria invites together with the Viennale in the Augarten and as in the years before the analog film projection is maintained: Wherever possible, the program is presented in some rare 35mm film copies. Look forward to exciting works, Austrian premieres and much more. All information can be found at www.kinowienochnie.at

The Dotdotdot - Open Air Short Film Festival takes place this year from July 3rd to August 24th at good weather open air in the garden of the Volkskundemuseum, in bad weather inside of it. The performances always take place Thursday and Friday. All information about the festival can be found at www.dotdotdot.at

An open-air cinema on the move is the Volxkino. The Volxkino presents a selected film program with award-winning and international film productions of recent years as well as film festival successes from around the world. And the cinema comes to you, because it stops where it is not otherwise: in parks, between community buildings, in public squares and markets, on the Gürtel or on the outskirts, and always with free admission. When it comes to you in the vicinity and all other information, you can find on the website at www.volxkino.at
