As already announced last week, I have prepared part 2 of the overview what is going on in Vienna in the coming weeks. Today, the focus is on festivals, events, culinary and holiday feeling.

Festivals & Events

From the 12th of July to the 12th of August, Vienna will be all about contemporary dance, because the Impulstanz Festival will take place again. For 5 weeks, thousands of professional dancers, choreographers and lecturers from all over the world, on the pulse of the time, meet, work together, celebrate contemporary dance and that in Vienna. There are performances, workshops, research projects and a colorful supporting program. You can find everything about this very special festival at www.impulstanz.com

It will be funny and witty from July 23 to July 28 at the Wiener Kabarettfestival (Viennese cabaret festival). The name is program and so you can look forward to 6 very entertaining evenings. The demonstrations will take place in the festival room of the Vienna City Hall. The program is available at www.wienerkabarettfestival.at

One of the classics during summer in Vienna is the Film Festival at Rathausplatz. From 30th June to 2nd September, the Rathausplatz turns into a large venue. Opera, operetta, concerts, jazz, musicals, ballet and much more big music productions are waiting for you. But that's not all, because from noon on, the first-class restaurateurs provide for your physical well-being. The events on the 300sqm screen start daily at nightfall. You can find more about this unique festival on the website at www.filmfestival-rathausplatz.at

From the 26th of July to the 29th of July Karlsplatz will be transformed into a large festival area, because then the Popfest Wien will take place again. With free admission, you can look forward to over 60 live acts, a diverse supporting program is also waiting. The whole program is available at www.popfest.at

From 1 August to 5 August, everything revolves around beach volleyball on the Danube Island. Teams from around the world compete against each other. Look forward to spectacular matches and an atmospheric supporting program. More at www.at.beachmajorseries.com

On the 27th of July and on the 26th of August, the full moon trip on the Old Danube gets really romantic. The boat rental companies extend their opening hours, so you can sail in the moonlight to the most romantic places. You can reserve the boat at www.alte-donau.info

From 10th August to 27th August the Africa Days will take place on the Danube Island as well. A celebration with African spirit, lots of music, dance, international artists and a colorful bazaar. Culinary & holiday feeling

Vienna is not only known for its festivals and events, but also for culinary delights, especially in summer. And what is more beautiful in summer than to enjoy good food and cool drinks or even sports activities in the open air? Holiday mood equal included.

The Copa Beach is probably unique in the world: in just 6 minutes you can take the subway from Stephansplatz to free swimming and relaxation on the New Danube. Generous green areas including green seating arena and modern gastronomy leave nothing to be desired. And at the newly designed water promenade you stroll around or just rest. More about the offer on www.copabeach.wien

A longtime classic in the middle of the city is the Summerstage next to Donaukanal. Whether for art lovers, gourmets, athletes or for fans of fine live concerts, there is something for every taste. Enjoy a warm summer evening with a good glass of wine, pleasant music, right on the water and yet in the middle of the city. What is going on on the Summerstage, you can find on www.summerstage.at

Beer lovers will be full in their element at the Ottakringer Braukulturwochen. From June 28th to August 29th, everything is focused on the cultivated brewing culture. Changing breweries, a fine culinary offer and a colorful supporting program such as beer games, brewery tours, live concerts and much more await you. All information and the program are available at www.ottakringerbrauerei.at/braukultur-wochen-2018

Where in winter the ice skaters make their rounds, there is sand and more at Sand in the city in the summer until September 1st. Whether an action-packed beach volleyball match, a cozy after-work drink or culinary temptations from one of the 12 beach bars, here the holiday mood is guaranteed. You can find more on www.sandinthecity.at

The Vienna City Beach Club is also waiting for you on the New Danube, at the current kilometer 10.5. Pure beach feeling makes this magical place. Live performances by DJs and the blue waters of the New Danube offer you an exclusive day and night experience. Let yourself be enchanted, with what, you can find it at www.vcbc.at

On the edge of Vienna's city center, where the Danube Canal meets the Wienfluss, opposite the Urania, is the Strandbar Herrmann. The Herrmann Park, where the beach bar is located, owes its name to Emanuel Herrmann, the forgotten inventor of the postcard. Even though you are in the middle of the city, just a few steps away from the Ring Road, you feel like you're on vacation. And for your physical well-being is well taken care of. You can find everything about this special beach bar at www.strandbarherrmann.at

Until 16th September, the Viennese summer baths invite you to swim, splash, sunbathe and relax. Which public pools are waiting for your visit, you will find under www.wienerbaeder.at

You can read about other water sports in Vienna and natural bathing areas at Summer Holidays in Vienna - Beachfeeling included and Bathing fun in the green - Vienna's natural bathing spots.

A special position is occupied by the Museumsquartier. Because the summer in the Museumsquartier simply combines everything, art, culture, open air, relaxation, entertainment, culinary and much more. There are, for example, sporting activities such as miniature golf or a boules court, free open air concerts and movies, a fun children's program and so much more. What's waiting for you, that's under www.mqw.at/programm/sommer-im-mq

So, what are your plans during the summer days in Vienna?
