The time before Christmas is especially for children a very special time of the year. Cookies are baked, a letter to Christkind is written, a door of the Advent calender is opened every day, and this very special magic that only exists before Christmas opens up. And with each candle lit by the Advent wreath, Christmas is approaching one more step.
Colorful program on the Christmas markets
Last week I already wrote you about the Christmas markets in Vienna. These with all their colorful colors, glitter and the Christmas decorations are especially for children attunement for the big day. But it is not just the Christmas markets that create a special feeling, but there wait so many more activities for children and the whole family too in Vienna.
On the larger Christmas markets such as the ones at the Rathausplatz, in the Altes AKH, the Altwiener Christkindlmarkt on the Freyung or in the Christmas village in front of the Belvedere a colorful children's program waits. How about a sleigh ride, a nostalgic carousel, be enchanted by a magician and learn the one or other magic trick yourself or the many hands-on stations at Rathausplatz? An enchanting offer in waits in Schönbrunn. At the Christmas market sweet marzipan figures can be made and gingerbreads be decorated in the Christmas workshop. Fun and games come also not too short, because at the hands-on rally the children can solve tricky puzzles together with the shepherds on stilts and play fun games. Or how about the giant memory?
Right in the castle, Poldi the castle ghost is already waiting to guide you through the Children's Museum. Together with him one can make festive Christmas presents. Also in the Zoo Schönbrunn it gets quite Christmassy. There is an Advent workshop and biscuit bakery, special children's advent tours and on 6.12 even the Nikolo comes to the zoo.
