Wieden is the name for the 4th district of Vienna. The district comprises of large residential areas with mostly historicist buildings and occasionally a mix of odd baroque Palis and post-war reconstruction “ugliness” where the buildings were built in a short-time in order accommodate for the shortage of residential houses and apartments. The tourists concentrate in the area of Karlsplatz, where the most dominant attraction is the Karlskirche Church, which was built in the early 1700s. Right next to the church is the Museum of Vienna, where one can track the history of the city from Stone Age to the modern day. The district also known for its outdoor fresh food market Naschmarkt. The market marks the border between the 4th and the 6th district, providing not only fresh but exotic imported food and spices from all over the world. Here local and tourists alike can enjoy various cuisines offered in quaint and cosy settings of different restaurants through out the day.
The location
The apartment is located in Wiednerstraße, only 3 minutes walking distance from the magnificent Karlskirche and 15 minutes walking distance from Stephansplatz, the Concert house is also reachable in just a few minutes.
The apartment is strategically located just off the main road where tram lines 1 and 62 run pass, allowing guests with direct access to the city center, as well as the Vienna Central train station. The Vienna Central Train Station is also a 25-minute-walking distant away from the apartment, with international and regional trains connections and metro line U1, making this location perfectly accessible and ideal to visit around Vienna.
